A true pioneer among Valais hiking trails, the legendary Tour des Dents du Midi, inaugurated in 1972, owes its reputation to the marathon that took place there for nearly 40 years. There are several variations of the Tour des Dents du Midi route; this one offers a complete loop around the Dents du Midi, largely following the route of the historic race (with a different starting point and omitting the descent to the village of Verossaz).
