Description

The Upplands-Broleden meanders through a typical Mälaren landscape, characterized by proximity to urban environments and Lake Mälaren's waters. Here you meet a varied landscape that has a lot to offer of both nature and culture. In a relatively limited area, you can experience everything from magical coniferous forests to grazed beach meadows.

The trail passes through four nature reserves and stretches along a fifth. These different reserves have completely different characters, from grazed beach meadows to primeval forest. Stäketskogen's nature reserve located on Stäksön is a primeval forest-like area with centuries-old pines. The Broängarna nature reserve is known for its rich bird life. The nature reserves Frölunda and Lejondal are scenic areas with rich opportunities for outdoor life and swimming.
