A 30 km point-to-point trail across the Utrechtse Heuvelrug (Utrecht Hill Ridge) in the central Netherlands, run station-to-station from Rhenen to Driebergen-Zeist. ~330 m of elevation gain. First opened in September 2011, the UHT is widely regarded as the original of the Dutch "station-to-station" trail format that later spawned a whole series of similar routes — its status among Dutch trail runners is something close to a classic.
Part of what makes it special is the terrain packed into a relatively short, fully train-accessible point-to-point: starting on the Neder-Rijn riverbank at Rhenen, the route climbs onto the ridge and then holds a fairly direct north-westerly line along it, moving through varied forest, heath, and old estate land rather than looping or backtracking. Notable waypoints include the former sand quarry at Kwintelooijen (with views over the Gelderse Vallei), the Eenzame Eik — a monumental 18th-century oak near the ridge's high point (~69 m NAP, the highest point on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug) — the Leersumse Veld heath, and the historic estate Huis te Maarn, before dropping down into Driebergen-Zeist.
