Description

This route takes in the whole of the Wales Coastal Path and Offa's Dyke. The Wales Coast Path is the first of its kind in the world, and connects with Offa's Dyke National Trail to create a unique continuous 1047 Mile path around Wales, taking in around 84,000ft of elevation along the way.

The Wales Coastal Path offers 870 Miles of unbroken, unspoilt, coastal running/walking around the whole of the Welsh coast, making it one of the best trail runs in Wales. The Offa’s Dyke Path is 177 Miles long and parallel’s the border of England and Wales. The full route links Sedbury Cliffs, near Chepstow on the Severn Estuary with the coastal town of Prestatyn on the north Wales coast. The route passes through 3 areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty; the Clwydian Hills, the Shropshire Hills and the Wye Valley as well as such enticing areas as the Clun Forest, the Brecon Beacons, the Black Mountains and the Vale of Clwyd.

I, Alan Bateson, will be running the Wales Coastal Path and Offa's Dyke Loop, on the 26th of June 2023, over 22 days, with the intention of setting the FKT for both the WCP and the WCP and Offa's Dyke path combined, which totals 1047 miles. I intend to do this supported.
