In addition to the well-known hiking trails in the Niederelbe and Nordheide, this DAV section has been crossing the Hamburg and Niederelbe hiking trail "Wilde13" since 2013 in five stages on many forest trails in an east-west direction. These five stages can be hiked in 21-28 km sections. The infrastructure is available almost everywhere with bus, train or hotel. For your planning here is an overview of weekend
appointments : 1st stage: Lüneburg to Salzhausen (26 km, approx. 6.0 h walking time) (bus, hotel)
2nd stage: Salzhausen to Buchholz (28 km, approx. 6.5 h Walking time) (train, bus, hotel)
3rd stage: Buchholz to Hollenstedt * (25 km, approx. 6, 0h walking time) (hotel, taxi *)
4th stage: Hollenstedt * to Horneburg (26 km, approx. 6, 0 h walking time) (train, boarding house)
5th stage: Horneburg to Stade (21 km, approx. 4.5 h walking time) (train, hotel)
* During the week there is also a bus.
This "Wilde13" is not signposted or marked, but is only supported by this description and to use the available GPX files . (Our GPX currently shows only Stages 3 & 4, roughly.)
