The Westmorland & Furness Way is a newly established long-distance trail running approximately 120 miles across Cumbria, from Alston in the North Pennines to Furness Abbey near Barrow-in-Furness.
The route was officially launched in September 2026 and links existing rights of way and trails through the North Pennines, Eden Valley, Yorkshire Dales and Lake District before continuing through South Cumbria to Furness Abbey.
The official route passes through locations including Kirkby Stephen, Sedbergh, Bowness-on-Windermere and Ulverston.
This submission follows the official Westmorland & Furness Way GPX and should be followed in its entirety.
Start: the official northern terminus of the Westmorland & Furness Way in Alston.
Finish: the official southern terminus at Furness Abbey.
