Has anybody posted about completing all of the Catskill Fire Towers in one day? Recently, I completed them in this order, unsupported. I carried all I needed for the entire day including water. While there are springs on some of the trails, they were not utilized. It was just myself for the driving as well, not sure if that makes any difference, but here are the basic details of the day.

This is a great Catskills loop I have done a number of times. It is possible to start in a few places and go different directions but I started at the end of Spruceton Road (rt.6) at the PA for the Spruceton trail up Hunter. I ran up the Devils Path and down the Spruceton trail with a .75 mile detour to the summit register of Leavitt mtn. (SW Hunter).

The West Rim trail is located in Lycoming County, PA, and runs along the Pine Creek Gorge, the grand canyon of Pennsylvania. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Rim_Trail I wrote a little about it here runningforthefridge.blogspot.com/2013/05/completing-west-rim-trail-womens.html. Starting from Woodland Valley Campground outside Phoenicia, New York the trail climbs Whittenberg Mountain (3780'), Cornell (3860'), and Slide Mountain (4180') in a 14.1 mile loop. On Saturday September 21, I completed the loop in 2 hours 44 minutes 19 sec. The previous record of 2 hours 47 minutes 10 sec was set by Ben Nephew in 2010. Trap Dike is a semi-technical ascent route on Mt Colden, the "historic mountaineering route", according to https://www.adirondackexplorer.org/stories/trapdike

Car-to-car specs are about 12 miles and 2800' of gain and loss, with most of the gain on one 30-40 degree scramble on the Dike, and a steep descent on the Arnold Slide. A route map by Phil Maynard is here.

The Briarcliff-Peekskill Trailway is a 12-mile route that runs from the town of Ossining to the Blue Mountain Reservation in Peekskill. It is park of Westchester County Parks. This particular park was built on land originally acquired in 1929 by the Westchester Parkway Commission for the construction of the Briarcliff Peekskill Parkway.
