Update: As of April 2022 this route is no longer available as official long distance route in Hoge Kempen. The National Park has expanded and a new 108 km route is now the official long route https://fastestknowntime.com/route/law-nationaal-park-hoge-kempen-new-version-2022 as also available as FKT route.

It is still possible to do the 74 k route but you need at have the gpx on a devise to follow the right trails (signposting is gone).

 

Old description: The long-distance walk in the National Park is a 74K loop. This route is signposted with its own symbol, the 'leg' of the National Park. Over a three or four-day period, you cross no less than five hiking areas. About 85% of the route is on trails. Wanneer je vertrekt aan toegangspoort Mechelse heide, begin je aan 1 van de mooiste stukken van de route. Hier vind je de grootste hoogteverschillen. Dit betekend ook dat de steilste stukken helemaal op het einde van de route komen. Verder typisch Kempens landschap, zoals je het ook in Herentals op de Kempense heuvelrug kan terugvinden, maar dan met meer hoogteverschil. Makelijk beloopbaar parcours met grotendeels bredere zandpaden.
