Description

The Surf Coast Walk is a world-class 44km (one way) multi-use trail beginning at the start of the Great Ocean Road region from Torquay to Aireys Inlet. Located on traditional Wadawurrung Aboriginal country, the trail follows an eclectic mix of windswept sand dunes and coastal vegetation. The Surf Coast Walk is an adventure that boasts total immersion in nature with the sanctuary of coastal villages within easy reach along the way.

I’m going to make an assisted attempt at the the surf coast walk fkt on the 23/1/2021.

There is no time set as of yet so all I need to do is finish. I’m planning on enjoying the run and bringing in support for the hardest sections, like the beach crossings.

I have my incredible wife Lisa crewing for me the whole way and my friend Jarrod Fogarty (coming back from a terrible quadricep injury) to pace me on some sections. He doesn’t know it yet, but I’m hoping he can get me through the sand sections on the way back!

I also have my dog River who I want to bring along for some of the run, as he’s my best running buddy of all time. I’m also hoping to bring my two young kids Angus (5) and Sadie (4) along, perhaps at the end section of the run at possos!

Here goes nothing! And kudos to whoever made this FKT, without you this would never have happened!!
