Description

This is a great out and back trail that starts at the Short Sands Trail - South Trailhead and goes up and over Neahkahnie and down the south side. There are steep climbs and many technical rooty and rocky sections that make it a worthy FKT route. I know it can be done much faster but wanted to kick it off as it's a beautiful and challenging trail. Jason Dorais ran 1:08:27 for this out and back in 2016.

I found Jason's 2016 that corresponds with the time you shared (Strava link). That run is an OaB from Neahaknie's North TH to South TH. This FKT begins several miles north from the Necarney Creek TH.
