Happy to beat the existing FKT but this was quite a disappointing run as I never got any of the time targets I'd aimed for.
Started off really well and felt good for about 12 miles. I've had some tightness in my hip recently and started to feel that after a while. This made me over compensate on the other side of my body so that started hurting too.
Planning to run an FKT on one of the hottest weekends of the year was probably not sensible either as the heat made things so much tougher!
Add to that a fall and cutting my hand open after 22 miles, it made the rest of it a lot more challenging.
Still, got the FKT though. Think I can do a fair bit better on a cooler day without any niggles so I'll be coming back to beat this.
Ran unsupported with a 2 litre bladder of water and 2 500ml soft flasks. This was just enough as I ran out just as I finished.
