I started the run from the Mesa Trail parking lot at 7:20am and made my way up towards the big climb towards South Boulder Peak, then over to Bear Peak. Luckily I had run chunks of the route three different times recently so I knew where to go, but I also had my phone using Trail Run Project to help navigate because the laminated paper I had planned to use got lost on mile one. The run went smoothly, and I only got briefly off-course at the Red Rocks Trail, but I backtracked exactly where I came from to get back on course. I brought my Nathan pack full of water and Spring Energy gels to help get me through the whole way. I ran the whole run solo except for my tunes!
