I parked 2km from the start (where the parking was free haha) and warmed up with easy running, and a couple of strides to the start of the trail.
My goal was to break 2h20m-2h30m ish. I haven't done any speed work, so it was a realistic goal for me. I thought perhaps, because it was a rail trail, and with a little luck on my side, I could go faster. I'm ecstatic to say that I ran comfortably hard and even almost broke 2hrs! I haven't ran this fast in years. I kept my foot on the gas the entire time and even picked it up the last 4km. I'm one happy runner right now :)
