I have to thank my incredible crew 🥰 Team Mangan who went above and beyond to the point they even changed my socks and shoes for me whilst I refueled! Debbie did the tough 24 mile leg 4 with me, she was outstanding. Brett (round creator) & Bryn 🐶 joined me for their overnight leg 5 early, keeping me safe in the dark & on top of my nutrition. It was torrential rain for around 14 hours, I had mud, bog, puddles, wind to contend with but all good fun! The cuckoo song kept me company all morning and the moon gave me the most stunning finale over Skirrid. I am so, so happy with this run and I am eternally grateful to the Mangan family and Brett for making it possible. 💗 This route is physically challenging as it is very runnable and the ridgelines make it mentally challenging. The majority of the day was foggy meaning I had to keep a very close eye on the watch rather than 'point and shot'. I tried a new line via Waun Fach Village meaning Mynydd Llangorse & Mynydd Troed were part of the circular route rather than an out and back (again thanks to Brett for finding this route). My nav was pretty spot on so anyone wanting to use this please feel free to use my gpx. I had checkpoints at Waun Fach village (although I came in so early my crew weren't there!) so we made the checkpoint at Pengenffordd instead. A checkpoint at Cadwgan car park and the final checkpoint at the Queen's Head pub (note there is an honesty box for parking here although they kindly said we did not need to pay). In theory you could have a checkpoint at Gospel Pass as Cadwgan to Queen's is a pretty long stretch (24 miles) and the one I found the toughest, not physically, but mentally.
