John and I had a great time trekking this loop! We climbed the stairs to the lookout tower just because it's a wonderful view. The steep descent on the (new to us) Lookout Trail wasn't as bad as I had expected. I had fun showing John around in the Wilderness of Rocks and we spent some extra time rock gawking. We took a short break when we hit the start of the ridge, then John suggested we might be able to finish in under 3:30, maybe even 3:15? I was game to try, even though I was pretty sure 3:15 was out of reach. We pushed the pace up the ridge back toward Mount Lemmon, working our way over and around a few blowdowns. As we neared the final steep haul I was pleasantly surprised at how close we actually got to that 3:15 guess. Excellent loop and a lovely day together on the trail. Thanks Braden!
