I chose to do:
Up Fern, down Shadow,
Up Bear, down Fern,
Up Shadow, down Bear.
Really great trail conditions, a warm but not hot day, moderately crowded weekend trails.
I carried 6 bottles of Skratch hydration up from the Cragmoor trailhead, stashed 4 of them at the Mesa-Fern trail junction, so carried 2 bottles for each loop.
I gave an everyday long run effort, but felt out of practice on trails this steep and technical, so it was plenty difficult!
