This is my first time ever running an FKT route! This is a newer route in the Boise foothills on trails I have been familiar with for several years now. It was not the ideal time of the year to maybe go for this as I did run into some muddy sections in the last several miles but for most of the run the trails were fairly smooth and frozen. I had all of my calories with me from the beginning and refilled water at one stream along the way which I believe makes this an unsupported attempt. I did the whole route solo and really didn't tell very many people I was going to run the route. Legs got a little more tired than I expected in the second half and I got a little emotional running down the last descent. This is the furthest I have ever run completely solo. This definitely won't be my last time going for an FKT!
Also the routemaker mentioned having to touch the cross early on in the route. I hope that is evident from the GPS data but if needed I did take a video of me touching the cross if that is required.
