We went southbound from the Mason Dixon line on the AT to the WV/VA state line on the AT. Weather was ideal, on,y a little hot in the middle of the day, very little mud.
We started at 7:30 am and ended just after 8:30PM. We had 2 full crew stops with refueling/resupplying at the trailhead for Annapolis Rocks and Gathland State Park, and one partial crew stop for one of our friends to change shoes at the Washington Monument. We were mainly going to finish it, and do the best we could as a group, always waiting for whoever was the slowest at any given time, so the time can definitely be beat, and we are hoping this FKT will encourage other women to get out there and challenge it! This felt harder to me than a 50 miler because of the rocks and large parts of unstable footing, but it is the perfect challenge - doable, but not to be taken lightly.
