FKT: Laura Matacia - Minnesota Lowest to Highest (MN) - 2024-09-28

Started on the shore of Lake Superior in Grand Marais. 3 miles of pavement out of town, then 13 miles of absolutely lovely gravel roads lined with changing leaves! Made it up to the Eagle Mnt trailhead and was excited to be on the trail! The views over the Boundary Waters in autumn colors was so stunning! First time in the Boundary Waters and the fall colors blew my mind! Was a super warm and sunny day.  I carried 2 L of water and a water filter just in case. I easy jogged back down to the trailhead and then hitchhiked back down to town and celebrated a successful mission by jumping in Lake Superior!  Very grateful for a warm September day with prime leaf color! This is also my 14th state highpoint! So much fun!
