This is a fun route, exploring trails in several parks on the west side of Tucson.  It's almost in the vein of "all trails in the park" - not quite, but close.  You get a good flavor of the trail variety along with occasional lovely views as you shuffle around this way and that.  I did water drops in 4 places (the route is completely dry) and husband John met me in the middle for resupply (thanks John!)

The first connector road (Camino de Oeste) has a good shoulder most of the way, only a couple narrow spots where you have to watch carefully for cars.  The second road (Camino del Cerro) turns narrow and windy and thankfully not hugely busy.  I wore a reflective vest on that one.  I also moved completely off the road several times when I heard cars approaching.  There's a short, steep - and blind - uphill that is most concerning.

I ran a modified version of the original route (I submitted a request to the admin but as of today nothing has been updated) because there is a "No Trespassing" sign and a gate at the entrance to Broken Springs.  Also I've never seen a trail connecting from that area to the Sweetwater Trail.  Instead I continued up the road to the Camino del Cerro trailhead.

Climbing over Wasson in the dark was entertaining, especially with lights showing up in all directions while being super quiet up high.  The run down was quite lovely, well, it eventually gets rocky but you can't have everything.  I was pleased with my pace and happy to spend a day on the trails.
