We were waiting for a time when the trail would be relatively dry since it follows the Wissahickon Creek and can get very muddy following a rainy stretch. We started at the northern trail head near the Nor-Gwyn Pool in North Wales and finished at the southern trail head at Stenton Ave in Flourtown. The previous one-way FKT was soft because it was also the first half of the currrent 25-mile out-and-back FKT. That run was unsupported, but was run in cooler temps in the month of October. With temps in the low 70s & 90% humidity, we decided to run it at first light in the morning and with support. Connor's dad met us at miles 4 and 8 so we could swap out handheld water bottles. I drank roughly 30 oz of water & took one salt capsule. Connor drank about 24 oz of water. The first couple miles are fairly open so we were able to bank some time. Miles 3-10 have some technical stretches, but the trail overall is very runnable and ~200 ft net downhill. The last two miles are paved, and we had a nice finishing push. We started & finished together and started & stopped our watches at the same time. We took turns alternating the lead on the mostly single-track trail.
