The Thorsborne Trail FKT has been on my radar for quite some time now. The stars finally aligned for me to take on the challenge on the 30th October 2025. There were good tides for the day, and althought the weather was incredibly hot, i had to make the most of it.
I chose to go North to South due to the availability of fresh water for drinking as i was going for the solo unsupported FKT. My father dropped me off at Ramsay Bay just after sunrise and met me at George Point to pick me up with my Mom and 15 month old daughter. Getting back to her was reason enough for me to get the trail done as quickly as possible. There was a lot of timber still down from this years floods and the trail is currently very technical with lots of exposed roots and stumps. The run itself went really well. It was super humid and hot and i really struggled in the last couple of kilometers along the beach in the midday sun. Due to how late in the season it was, i didn't think that i would see many people, however there were still quite a few friendly faces along the trail. We wrapped the attempt up with a meal, beer and a swim at the Lucinda pub.
