Started and finished at Soldiers Park located in the town of Collie commencing at 0600 on Saturday the 20th July 2024.
Course completed in a clockwise direction. This was to align with the need to cross the Wellington Dam wall which is only open between the hours of 9am and 5pm. The Dam wall crossing was very windy with a great view.
South side of the course is definitely the more scenic which is another good reason to complete this section in daylight and leave the section back into Collie along the highway until dark.
There was a group of eight of us complete the course, (2 part course) with a number of stops at our mobile aid station vehicles. (Where would we be without our ever faithful crews.)
We had near perfect conditions with a couple of light showers but not enough to warrant getting out the rain jacket.
