Tried this FKT as part of Mission Marathon sub-3 training program, my second time doing this program. The run was 3 hours total with final 120 mins: 4x20 at pace, with 10 minutes 15-20 secs slower in between and after final block.
I warmed up with 8 mi at easy pace (5 as part of this attempt), then started on the workout portion.
It was hot, I didn't carry enough water, and I got extremely dehydrated and fell off pace during the third pace block, and cramped all over. Hobbled for the remaining 5-6 miles. Got the FKT nonetheless, but I hope to reattempt in cooler weather, and with a better hydration and fueling strategy, to hopefully knock 10+ minutes off.
