Lake County section

Being that I run on this trail so frequently, I've had my eye on this route for an unsupported attempt. Started early in the morning and carried my own supplies from the Lake Cook Road beginning bridge. My goal was to run a sub 3h30min marathon then see how much I had left for the last 5 miles. It felt good as the miles ticked away and the pack got lighter from using my water and fuel. I didn't really take any breaks until mile 21 and 27 to access more fuel from my pack. The trail is so smooth and in great shape for the entirety of the Lake County section. With the somewhat frequent, but manageable, road crossings and bridges along the route it makes for good mental points to feel that you are making progress.
