We started at the information point in Bourton-on-the-Water at 06:37. It was cooler than it had been in recent weeks and the rainy spells we had on the day were nice and refreshing. The ground wasn’t too hard due to recent rain and there were only a few mildly boggy sections. There was a lot of overgrowth of nettles and brambles to contend with and some of the paths through fields were slow going with crops being thick and high. We had support (food and water top-ups) at Shipton-Under-Wychwood, Stonesfield, Kirtlington, Noke (Islip wasn’t ideal for parking), Waterperry, Pyrton and Pishill. We finished in the middle of Henley bridge.
