Morning,

I have been eyeing this challenge up for a while and used it as a training day for a 100km race next month.

I started around 7am and finished just after 4pm on Saturday 29th June. Self supported, carried all my food, but forgot my PBJ sarnies (gutted). Filled up water at Port Eynon, Rhossili and Penclawdd.

It was a gorgeous day for running, if anything a little too sunny towards the end!

A great route and easy to follow with the signage and route gpx. The only issue encountered is the embankment collapse at Cwm Ivy which is impassable at high tide. See photo 'route_issue' (approx 55km).

I spoke to a local runner who stopped when I was looking at the map to see if I needed help. I asked him if the embankment collapse was passable at low tide, to which he said 'no not really'. There are also 2 fences to climb over to get to the embankment collapse. The detour I took follows new coast path signs and reconnects with the 'old coast path' at the other end of the embankment. It is a longer route and so I hope that my attempt will still be considered? It might be worth altering the route to avoid any future attempts going this way and getting into difficulty?

A great day out!
