Abbott's Hike, named after Peter Abbott, its originator, links 25 miles of the Dales Way, 14 miles of the Three Peaks Walk, and three miles of the Pennine Way National Trail to provide a route from Yorkshire to the Lake District. The walking is classed as challenging and is on upland and moorland and it certainly is that. From the beginning in Ilkley, West Yorkshire the route travels to Pooley Bridge beside Ullswater in the Lake District by way of Addingham, Bolton Abbey, Simon's Seat, Appletreewick, Burnsall, Grassington, Littondale, Pen-y-Ghent, Horton-in-Ribblesdale, Ingleborough, Whernside, Dentdale, Sedbergh, Howgill Fells, Low Borrowbridge, Patton Bridge, Burneside, Staveley, Entmere, High Street, Loadpot Hill, and Arthur's Pike.
