Description

Acadia National Park is located along the Maine coast and is situated on Mount Desert Isle. The only National Park in the Northeast, the views are legendary. The coast is a unique mix of pink rocky granite that jut our of the Atlantic and are met with pine forests. Sandy beaches are rare here! The Park Loop Road circles the main part of the park and runs along the coast on the eastern side and then up through the lower ridges of Pemetic and Cadillac Mountains. The FKT route covers the entirety of the main loop.  The sheer variety of landscape is impressive, as are the sites themselves. You may spot wildlife but very few other runners or cyclists.
