Der Albsteig (Schwäbische-Alb-Nordrand-Weg/Hauptwanderweg 1/HW 1) ist wohl der berühmteste Fernwanderweg der Schwäbischen Alb. Er führt meist auf schmalen Pfaden entlang des Albtraufs, der steil abfallenden der Nordseite der Alb, und legt dabei insgesamt 365 km und über 8000 Höhenmeter zwischen Donauwörth und Tuttlingen zurück.
Die 10. Etappe führt von der Kurstadt Bad Urach bis zum Rötelstein oberhalb von Honau. Die Tour startet mit einem langen, steilen Anstieg zum märchenhaften Uracher Wasserfall. Der Albsteig führt uns weiter nach oben zum Aussichtsturm und Ehrenmal „Hohe Warte“. Durch Buchenwälder und saftige Wiesenwege gelangen wir zur Ruine Greifenstein. Der Ausblick wird nur noch vom Rötelstein, dem Tagesziel der Strecke, übertroffen.

The Albsteig is probably the most famous long-distance hiking trail in the Swabian Alb. It mostly follows narrow paths along the Albtrauf, the steep northern escarpment of the Alb, covering a total of 365 kilometers and over 8,000 meters of elevation gain between Donauwörth and Tuttlingen.
Stage 10 leads from Bad Urach to the Rötelstein above Honau. The hike begins with a long, steep ascent to the enchanting Urach Waterfall. The Albsteig continues uphill to the lookout tower and memorial Hohe Warte. Passing through beech forests and lush meadow paths, we reach the ruins of Greifenstein Castle. The view from there is only surpassed by the one from Rötelstein, the day’s final destination.
