I will be going for the supported speed record of the Via Alpina Red. I will start running the 7th of July, and I'll go east to west like Guillaume Arthus, current record holder.Â
I aim for 85km a day, the daily average I was able to maintain on the Appalachian Trail as well.Â
My crew exists of Joren and my wife, and two good friends Henri and Klaas. There will also be a film crew following along.
Will post livetracking website as soon as it's available. As usual, I rely on Legends Tracking, and I'll be running with a tracker that saves my location every 2-4 minutes. With (any brand/type of) cell service, GPS locations get uploaded to the tracking site. If there is no cell service, GPS points get saved in the buffer and as soon as there's service again they get uploaded as well.
On the livetracking you will see virtually where Guillaume was during his record attempt at the time, based on his actual GPS data. Note that Guillaume went self-supported.Â

On the 13th of August 4.00 am I will start my first supported long-distance running adventure on the Via Alpina Red Trail. I’ll try to set the first female FKT (supported) for this route and I will run from Muggia (Trieste, Italy) to Monaco. I will use the same Tracker of Legends Tracking like Karel did last year. Live tracking can be found here: https://juli-bruening.legendstracking.com/
I will be supported by my fiancée for full-time and some other friends, my brother with his girlfriend, my parents and Chris (film director) for part-time.
They will give daily updates on Social Media (IG): https://www.instagram.com/nextlevel.project/
More information about the project: www.nextlevel-project.com
On 1st July 2025 Susi Lehmann and I will start our attempt on the Via Alpina (new 2024 route), trying to be the first female team to officially set a supported FKT on this route.
We will try to be faster then slowenian runner Lenka Polackova who eventually completed the route in 2023 in 39 days, but didn't officially register it here. She is, as far as we know, the only woman that completed the new Via Alpina route by now.
We will go East to West like Jake Caterall did.
We will be accompanied by a crew consisting of our friend Natalie Bogner and a film crew from Ravir Film to capture everything and eventually make a documentary movie from it.
Our attempt can be followed via livetracking on www.running-via-alpina.com (soon available) and there will be daily updates on my Social Media www.instagram.com/youareanadventurestory where you can also follow our progress.
On June 27, 2025, I intend to start my attempt on Via Alpina (new 2024 route), running from East to West.Â
I will be carrying everything I need (sleep system, gear, supplies, etc.) apart from food, and will be staying in my tent, huts and accommodation along the way. However, I am likely to have a friend join me for a few days on the trail, so my attempt will be classified as supported.
I'm aware that other female FKT attempts will be happening at the same time, and I'm very excited to meet people on the trails and share the experience!
I'll be recording on Garmin/Strava, and posting on Instagram when I have the chance (@allirahanch).
Tomorrow morning, July 6, 2025, I'll begin my attempt to run the new Via Alpina route from Trieste to Monaco.
I will be supported along the way by one of my best friends Kyra with her Land Rover Defender.
You can follow my progress on strava and I'll be posting on Instagram whenever I can.
Wishing all the others on the trail the best of luck and a lot of fun!
