Description

Properly stylized as (A)Round (the) Top, and getting it's name from it's highest peak, Round Top, this route is a ridge traverse that includes summits of the 16 peaks found on Peakbagger.

Traveling westbound, these peaks are:

1. Elephant's Back
2. Winnemucca
3. Round Top
4. The Sisters (east peak)
5. The Sisters (west peak)
6. Fourth of July
7. Peak 9795 (no name)
8. Melissa Coray
9. Covered Wagon
10. Thimble
11. Thunder Mountain (east peak)
12. Thunder Mountain (west peak)
13. Martin Point
14. Two Sentinels (south peak)
15. Two Sentinels (north peak)
16. Carson Spur

Start and end point are the cabin at the Carson Pass PCT trailhead and the trail sign (with map) at the Thunder Mountain trailhead.

Don't forget to take those start, end, and summit selfies for proof of completion!

Cool route idea Ben. What climbing or scrambling rating does it go at?

In terms of exposure, the worst parts are Thimble and the knife edge ridge east of Round Top. The latter is not technically difficult but does have a fair amount of loose rock and a lot of exposure. The former, the crux, is Thimble. The concensus seems to be that reaching the summit block only requires class 3 scrambling but should be rated at a class 4+ due to the exposure. (Lists of John rates it at class 4.) Links:
