Route: Barometer Mtn (AK)

Barometer Mountain is a 2,506’ (764 m) prominent peak (Kodiak’s most popular mountain, according to alaska.org) near the city airport on Kodiak Island, Alaska. The route starts from Rezanof Drive, past the airport runway, and is marked with a small sign across from a parking pullout. I recorded an elevation gain of 2,448’, and with the exception of a 0.6 mile approach on flattish trail, the route goes straight up the east ridge of Barometer to the summit. The total distance is 3.69 miles.
