This easy and fairly level route follows the Blackwater river along the Surrey/Wokingham/Hampshire borders
A route of contrasting halves, the river first flows east and north looping through the suburban areas of Aldershot, Farnborough, Frimley and Blackwater to reach Sandhurst, after which it takes a westerley course in much more rural surroundings through a series of flooded gravel pits with interesting birdlife, and then in quiet meadows, sometimes on recent new permissive paths, to reach the confluence with the River Loddon.
It crosses the Basingstoke Canal Walk at the aqueduct near Aldershot
I plan to do this on Thursday 13th January 2022.
Beautiful day for it, good luck!
Thanks! It was a stunning day today!
