Der Weg ist seit 2009 als Premiumwanderweg ausgezeichnet.

Der Weg lebt von einem lebendigen Relief und einer sehr ausgewogen Führung, die abwechslungsreich durch unterschiedliche Waldformen und immer wieder in die freie Feldflur leitet. Besonders eindrucksvoll sind die Heideflächen bei Hommershausen und ein schönes Wiesental.

Der Weg gehört zu den Extratouren in Hessen: Die Wege sind gut markiert und haben den Anspruch, die schönsten Seiten Hessens zu erschließen.
