This is a "Rails to Trails" conversion.  It is established as an out and back.  It begins in Terra Cotta off Bricklane Road, mile marker zero, and ends at Highway 9 in Caledon (except for running back to the start).

Mostly flat with exceptional surface of crushed limestone gravel for most of the trail. 43 miles or 70 kilometres round trip. Meanders through small hamlets in the Caledon region and larger suburban areas. Very fast course and set up for PR's at all distances. Some tree cover in areas, but can be very hot in the heat of the day. Very little wind on most of the trail. Traffic can be higher on weekends with cyclists, runners/walkers and some horseback in areas. Access is easy and can be found at several points along the trail. The trail crosses several country roads as it moves East from mile marker zero. Trail does extend past the last trail marker at Highway 9 and turns into The Great Trail and continues to Tecumseth and beyond.

Chris Henderson and I will attempt the Caledon Trailway FKT on Saturday, September 12th. We will start at around 6am and will carry all of our own food and water. We plan to filter water from rivers if additional water is needed. We'll track with Garmin watches and document with an iPhone and GoPro. Looking forward to an adventure!

Sorry I'm late to see this. Congratulations on the time. I'm thinking of chasing it later this Fall or in the Spring. I left a lot of time out there, glad to see you set something more respectable. Thanks for taking on the challenge. With no races, that was the intent. Awesome result!

Tyler Chacra and I will attempt the Caledon Trailway FKT on Sunday, November 1st.  We will start in the night and carry all of our own supplies and nutrition.  Water will be sourced from rivers and streams if required.  Tracking will occur with Garmin watches and starts and stops documented on iPhone.  Should be interesting!
