Description

The Coffs Harbour Northern Hinterland Ultra is a 100km point-to-point route covering a selection of the Coffs Coast's most scenic highlights. Beginning on the beach at Arrawarra and covering 3,000m of elevation gain, the route follows meandering trails through various vegetation types and mountainous terrain before finishing at the iconic Coffs Harbour Jetty.

Highlights include:

  • Sherwood Nature Reserve;
  • Infinity Pool waterfall, offering expansive inland views;
  • Climb to the summit of Mt Coramba, which at 589m above sea level allows impressive views along the Coffs Coast and is the highest distinct peak in the area;
  • Lush rainforests and crystal-clear creeks in Ulidarra National Park;
  • End Peak trail;
  • Sealy Lookout;
  • Coffs Harbour Jetty.

To complete the route, the following points must be visited in order (or reverse order)

  • Infinity Pool out-and-back - continue to turnaround point at the top of the waterfall and the rocky outcrop with views;
  • Swamp Trail in Sherwood Nature Reserve - this short out-and-back is located not long after Infinity Pool. Continue all the way to the montane wetland clearing before turning around;
  • Mount Coramba - continue all the way to the clearing at the summit;
  • End Peak - ensure that the correct trail is taken to reach the highest point of the End Peak trail above Coffs Harbour. Note that there is another trail that veers off-course to the left just before this point;
  • Sealy Lookout;
  • Upon reaching the bottom of Breakers Way in Korora, continue south along the coastline to the Coffs Harbour Jetty;
  • Coffs Harbour Jetty - start/end point for the route is the very end of the jetty.

Trails are mostly very runnable and in good condition with only limited sections of technical terrain.
