Description

Route through Carbondale, CO that at its northern-most point connects to the 42-mile Rio Grande Trail that goes from Glenwood Springs to Apsen, CO and at its southern-most start ends by the base of Carbondale's most scenic peak, Mount Sopris, with the view the entire way going south of the peak getting closer and closer and approaching the majestic red rocks of the Mushroom Rock and more of Carbondale's most iconic in-town hikes on the northern trek. This trail does go through the town in the northern part, but only has one traffic light and one traffic circle, so it is a great runnable paved route with nature all around.
