Description

The challenge is to complete all five of the Dartmoor peaks that are over 600m -  Cut Hill, Whitehorse, Hangingstone Hill, High Willhays and Yes Tor - as quickly as possible.

Start location: Free car park just east of the Dartmoor Inn in Lydford, Devon.

The route is a navigational challenge, as well as a test of your fell running skills. It requires you to choose the best line and to pick the right day, as heavy rain or wind, or  firing on any of the firing ranges may prevent a FKT attempt.

I love the fact that no two runs are the same and there is always a better line to choose. The climb up to Higher Willhays and Yes tor would test anyone's climbing skills but the entire route is runnable on a good day.

I chose to run via the western side of Doe tor, as it's a better line to Deadman's Lake, then I took a more direct line to White Horse Hill from Cut Hill. There are better lines to be had still though on the return from Yes Tor.
