Description

The Devonshire Heartland Way is a west-to-east route across pastoral Devon, starting in Okehampton with Dartmoor backdrops and finishing in Stoke Canon just north of Exeter. It follows ancient footpaths, bridleways and some minor roads. The logo for the trail has a Spindleberry flower on it. However, while the general footpaths is signposted throughout, it is not always marked as Devonshire Heartland Way. The GPX route is based on the Ordnance Survey mapping of the the route and starts outside Okehampton Railway Station (also bus stop) and passes Sampford Courtenay (bus stop & pub), Honeychurch, North Tawton (bus stop, pub & shops), Zeal Monarchorum (pub), (slightly off-route) Bow (bus stop & pub), Colebrooke, Yeoford (railway station & pub) and Crediton (railway station, bus stop & shops), Shobrooke (pub), Newton St Cyres (railway station, bus stop & pub), Brampford Speke (pub), before finishing at the Post Office in Stoke Canon (bus stop & shop).
