Description

The route goes through some of the most beautiful parks on the West coast of The Netherlands, and is mostly on bike lanes next to the dunes of Kennemerland, Waterleidingduinen and in Noordwijk

The start is at Kennemerland national park (https://www.np-zuidkennemerland.nl/299/national-park-zuidkennemerland), which is one of the most beautiful parks in the country. You'll start on the east side of the park, in a small forest, and run towards the beach, next to the sand dunes. As the website says: "the ever-surprising expanse of dunes, from country estates along the outer edge, through rugged dunes towards the North Sea beach, is the habitat of countless special animals and plants". As you reach the beach, the route starts heading south towards other natural parks (Waterleidingduinen, which will be on your left and in Noordwijk) and small beach towns, where you will keep running on the bike line and next to the dunes or the beach

A few small beach towns are also crossed: Bloemendaal aan Zee, Zandvort, Nordwijk aan Zee and Katwijk aan Zee before arriving in Scheveningen. All towns include either bike lanes or sidewalks, and are safe for runners attempting this FKT

Practical information:

> Start: Parking Duin and Kruidberg, Santpoort-Noord (30 minutes train ride from Amsterdam Central)

> Finish: Oostduinpark, when you get to the Belgisch Park in Scheveningen (Den Haag). There is no train station in Scheveningen, but buses and trams get to Den Haag central station (which is 4.5 km away, from there you can go back to Amsterdam or wherever you started)
