This is the entire length of the East Lothian Coast from Musselburgh, on the outskirts of the country capital Edinburgh, to the Scottish Borders in Cockburnspath. The route takes in the final 60km of the official John Muir Way and then joins the Join Muir link route to the Scottish Borders. A mix of road and trail (10%,90%) and a total ascent and descent of roughly 500m the route is not too challenging and is open to some very fast running.
The route starts at the boundary line between Edinburgh City and East Lothian on the A199 (Close to the Booker cash and carry) and finishes in the town of Coburnspath at the end (or beginning) of the Southern Upland Way.
