Long distance walking route - the length of the Gryffe Valley from the source of the river near Loch Thom in Greenock, to the Onyx Sports Centre in Linwood, Renfrewshire.
The website has a good brochure which gives a lot of detail on the history of the route, the villages, and some other planning information.

- Terrain type - the route is 20% trail/forest path, 20% single track road (open to cars/traffic), and 60% tarmac cycle path.
- Facilities on route - there is a lot of info on the Gryffe Valley Way website - however the route, passes through Kilmalcolm, Bridge of Weir and Houston. There are plenty shops / cafes in Kilmalcolm and Bridge of Weir, dependant on the time of day. There is also a cafe at the ‘finish line’ at the On-X Leisure Centre in Linwood, which is open on some days.
- Travel Advice - There are car parks at both start and finish locations so may require some planning as part of a group or make use of some friends - Greenock has good transport links. The finish town (Linwood) has good bus provision.
