Hirvaan Kierros is a circular trail partly located in Salamajärvi National Park, traversing diverse landscapes including forests, bogs, lakes, streams, and meadows.
Along the route, hikers will find several wilderness huts, shelters, public wells, and outdoor toilets.
The trail primarily consists of single-track paths with rocky and root-filled sections, though it also features easier stretches with duckboards and gravel roads. The elevation gain is minimal, but some areas can become quite wet.
The route is well-marked with blue dots on trees. For the FKT route, small out-and-back sections are omitted. Trailheads are easily accessible by car in several places.
