Location
Alberta, CA
Distance
115 km
Vertical Gain
6,250 m
Description

Start in the town of Jasper at the Jasper the Bear statue, then summit Pyramid Mountain, Roche Bonhomme, Signal Mountain, and Whistlers Mountain, with running and hiking between and finishing back where you started. This is an open route, meaning the route and the order mountains are summitted is up to you, with the only fixed points being the start and end, and the need to reach these summits. The route shown here, however, works well and is probably close to the most efficient possible.

The run links up four classic mountains with epic views, encompasses 6000+ m of gain, and gives the runner a 360º perspective of the Jasper townsite. Be prepared for some hands-on scrambling on Pyramid Mountain and Roche Bonhomme, off-trail routefinding, and expect a hot and exposed run throughout the valley bottoms and lower slopes after the 2024 Jasper wildfire. The entire route is within Jasper National Park, and should respect Parks Canada regulations and trail closures.
