The Kiama Coast Walk follows the officially signposted coastal walking track from Minnamurra train station to Werri Beach lagoon along the coastline, remaining on the marked trail wherever possible.
The name of this walk comes from its Indigenous name, Kiarama, meaning 'place where the sea makes a noise'. This is a beautiful coastal walk with undulating greenery, where farmland meets the Tasman Sea.
The route includes rocky coastal singletrack, headlands, beach sections, and exposed coastal trail, with no significant tree cover and full sun exposure for most of the course. This trail is packed with noteworthy features: Jones Beach, Cathedral Rocks, Boneyard Beach, Bombo Headland, Kiama blowhole point, Surf Beach, the lush farmlands of Kiama Heights, the list goes on.
It is a good idea to check tides ahead of time so that you can ensure the headland at the south end of Bombo is exposed and the lagoon at Werri Beach is open or crossable.
