Route: Krottenkopf Skyrace (Germany)

With 2.656 m the Großer Krottenkopf is the highest peak in the Allgäu Alps. This route describes the classic ascent, from the head of Trettach valley to the „roof“ of the Allgäu. Start and finish point is the valley station of the Kemptner Hütte material ropeway.

Route points: Ropeway station - Sperrbachtobel - Kemptner Hütte - Oberes Mädelejoch - Krottenkopfscharte – summit cross Großer Krottenkopf - and the same route down again.

The complete route is 18.5 km long and has about 2000 m difference in altitude with some various alpine and technical sections. The entire trail is marked with signs and markings.
