Description

[ENG] :

The Morvan Express is a magnificent adventure of 133 km with approximately 3,600 m of positive elevation gain, designed to cross the entirety of the Morvan Regional Natural Park from South to North. Between forest trails, mossy undergrowth, legendary lakes, mystical gorges, and ridge paths, this itinerary offers a total and wild immersion in the heart of Burgundy, but above all in the heart of the Morvan forests.

Mostly using iconic sections of the GR13, the track offers a progression that is as demanding as it is varied:

  • The Start: The adventure kicks off from the south, in front of the church in Luzy, sending runners to tackle the Morvan reliefs.

  • The Roof of the Morvan: The route climbs to conquer the heights of the massif, notably around Haut-Folin (901m) and its landscapes.

  • The Spirit of Water: The itinerary then guides you toward the region's aquatic jewels, featuring the large Lake Settons, the spectacular Saut de Gouloux waterfall, then the superb mystical gorges of La Canche and the dams of the Crescent.

  • The Finish: After crossing secret valleys and characterful villages, the challenge ends in beauty to the north, beneath Avallon's Clock Tower — a strong and poetic symbol to close a journey of self-reflection and a race against time.

Whether to set a premier chronological reference or to live a great traverse in semi-autonomy, the Morvan Express is a timeless journey along the park's most beautiful trails.

It can be done in spring, summer, autumn, and winter, but do not think the season won't change your sensations... Here, winters are harsh, ideal for putting your mind to the test.

[FRA] :
