Description

Mammoth Cave is well known as the longest cave system in the world but Mammoth Cave National Park also has 80 miles of trails for those who are interested in exploring above ground. At 37 square miles of forest ridges, valleys, and scenic rivers vistas, the backcountry area provides the perfect place for a journey on foot. This route traces the trails around the perimeter of backcountry trail area, offering a getaway from the more crowded areas of the park.
