Description

This route is located in France, in the ''Grand Est'' region.

It starts from Metz (pronounced Mess), beautiful city which has a recorded history dating back over 3,000 years, and finishes in Nancy, well-known for its ''Place Stanislas'', a large and luminous square (UNESCO World Heritage Site, the first place in France and in the top four in the world).

During 65km, the route crosses:

- two canals (''le canal de Jouy'' for the first 20km along the Moselle river and ''le canal de la Marne au Rhin'' along the Meurthe river in the last 10km)

- typical French villages like Montauville, Dieulouard or Pompey

- the ''Parc Naturel Régional de Lorraine'' for 5 km from Sazerais to Pompey

Every year, usually on May 8 (WWII Victory Day in France), a walk between the 2 cities is organized by this association. You can take advantage of many water and food refreshments all along the route.

But you can also run it whenever you want because of the signage all along the route. You can find the official GPS track here.

Enjoy!
